What six countries gained territory after the World War 1?

Six countries gained territory as a result of the Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919 to officially end World War I:

1. Belgium: Belgium gained the Eupen-Malmédy region from Germany, which had been part of Prussia since the 18th century.

2. Czechoslovakia: Czechoslovakia was formed from the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and included the regions of Bohemia, Moravia, Slovakia, and Ruthenia.

3. Denmark: Denmark gained North Schleswig from Germany following a plebiscite in 1920.

4. France: France regained Alsace-Lorraine, which had been annexed by Germany in 1871. France also received some small territories from Germany in Africa and the Middle East.

5. Italy: Italy gained South Tyrol, Istria, and parts of the Dalmatian coast from Austria-Hungary.

6. Poland: Poland was created from parts of the former German, Russian, and Austro-Hungarian Empires. Poland gained West Prussia, Posen, and Upper Silesia from Germany, as well as parts of Galicia and Volhynia from Austria-Hungary.
