The First Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas, was a battle of the American Civil War fought on July 21, 1861, in Prince William County, Virginia, just north of the town of Manassas. The battle was the first major land engagement of the war and resulted in a Confederate victory.
P.G.T. Beauregard was a Confederate general who commanded the Confederate Army of the Potomac at the First Battle of Bull Run. Irving McDowell was a Union general who commanded the Union Army of the Northeast at the battle.
