History of North America

Where was the war of 1812 held?

The War of 1812 was primarily fought in North America, between the United States and the United Kingdom and its allies. The majority of the conflict took place in the Great Lakes region, along the Canadian-American border, the Gulf Coast, the Atlantic Coast, and the Chesapeake Bay. Battles also occurred in the Northwest Territory and the Southwest Territory, as well as in the territories of West Florida and East Florida, which were claimed by both the United States and the United Kingdom. The war also extended to the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, where the United States Navy engaged British ships in naval battles.
