What were voting qualifications for most states during the federalist period?

Requirements varied, but it was fairly common for states to require:

- Male: Most states restricted voting to男性公民。

- Age: Most states required voters to be at least 21 years old.

- Property: Many states required voters to own a certain amount of property.

- Race: Most states restricted voting to white citizens.

- Religion: Some states restricted voting to members of certain religions.

- Literacy: Some states required voters to be able to read and write.
