History of North America

How much did cowboys in the 1900s get paid?

Cowboys in the 1900s made salaries ranging from $20 to $40 per month. Some cowboys could make up to $100 per month if they were especially skilled. These wages were fairly low, even for the time, but many cowboys were able to make a living by supplementing their income with other work. For example, some cowboys might also ranch, work in a store, or drive a stagecoach.
