What was the first major conflict of civil war?

The first major conflict of civil war was the English Civil War, which took place in England and Wales between 1642 and 1651. The war was fought between the Royalists, led by King Charles I, and the Parliamentarians, led by Oliver Cromwell. The conflict was primarily political and religious, with the Royalists supporting the absolute monarchy and the Church of England, while the Parliamentarians sought to limit the power of the king and establish a more democratic government and reform the church. The war resulted in the execution of King Charles I in 1649 and the establishment of the Commonwealth of England under the rule of Oliver Cromwell.
