History of North America

What did the banjo get used for in civil war?

The banjo was used in the American Civil War by soldiers on both sides as a means of entertainment and as a way to communicate. The banjo was also used as a musical instrument in military bands. Many soldiers played the banjo, and it was a common sight to see a group of soldiers gathered around a campfire, singing songs and playing music on the banjo. The banjo was also used as a way to communicate with other soldiers. For example, soldiers would often play the banjo to signal to each other that they were coming, or to let each other know where they were.
