Who did black slaves support during the revolutionary war?

Many black slaves supported the British during the Revolutionary War. The British were giving freedom to slaves who joined their cause. Many slaves were loyal to their masters and fought on the side of the colonists, while others took the opportunity to escape and join the British. It is estimated that around 20,000 black slaves fought for the British during the war, while around 5,000 blacks fought for the colonists.
