History of North America

Was the Americans revolt against tyranny anticipated?

The American Revolution was not anticipated by the British government. The British had expected the colonists to be grateful for their protection and support during the French and Indian War, and they were surprised when the colonists began to protest against their policies. The British government believed that the colonists were being unreasonable, and they did not take their concerns seriously. As a result, the British were not prepared for the American Revolution, and they were ultimately defeated.
