History of North America

What three types of freedom were the early settlers looking for?

1. Freedom of Religion: The early settlers sought religious freedom because they were dissatisfied with the Church of England and its dominant position in England. They believed that they had the right to practice their own religious beliefs without interference from the government.

2. Freedom of Speech: The early settlers also valued freedom of speech and expression. They believed people should have the right to speak their minds, regardless of whether it agreed with the majority.

3. Freedom of Assembly: Finally, the early settlers were looking for freedom of assembly. They wanted to be able to gather and discuss religious, political, and social issues without fear of reprisal from the government.
