History of North America

When did the red Angus come to US?

The Red Angus breed was developed in the United States in the 1930s by combining the bloodlines of Angus cattle from Scotland with those of Hereford cattle from England. The first Red Angus cattle were produced in 1938 on the ranch of rancher Charles Boyd Carpenter, who sought to create a breed of cattle that would combine the best traits of both breeds. The Red Angus breed was formally established in the early 1940s and has since become a popular breed of beef cattle in the United States and other countries.
