History of North America

Was the us considered union?

The United States of America has been a federation of states since its inception in 1789. The term "union" is used to refer to the country's federal nature, in which states have their own governments and powers, but are also part of a larger national entity. The United States is considered a "federal union" or "federation" to reflect this structure, as opposed to a "unitary state" where all power is concentrated in a single central government.
