History of North America

In a sharecropping agreement what does the person who owns land offer worker?

* Land: The landowner provides the land for the sharecropper to farm. This land is typically suitable for growing crops or raising livestock.

* Housing: The landowner may also provide housing for the sharecropper and his or her family. This housing is usually located on the farm property.

* Equipment: The landowner may also provide some of the equipment that the sharecropper will need to farm the land. This equipment may include tractors, plows, and other farm machinery.

* Seed and fertilizer: The landowner may also provide the sharecropper with seed and fertilizer for the crops.

* Livestock: The landowner may also provide the sharecropper with livestock to raise on the farm. This livestock may include cattle, pigs, or chickens.

In return for these inputs, the sharecropper agrees to share a portion of the crops or livestock that he or she produces with the landowner. The share of the crops or livestock that the sharecropper receives varies depending on the terms of the agreement.
