What were liu accomplishments?

Liu Xiang (athlete)

* 2004 Olympic champion in the 110-meter hurdles. Liu became the first Chinese athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field.

* 2006 World Indoor Championships champion in the 60-meter hurdles. Liu defended his title in 2008.

* 2007 World Championships silver medalist in the 110-meter hurdles. Liu finished behind world record holder Dayron Robles of Cuba.

* 2008 Olympic bronze medalist in the 110-meter hurdles. Liu finished behind Robles and Jamaica's Maurice Smith.

* 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the 110-meter hurdles. Liu finished behind Robles and Andrew Riley of Jamaica.

* Former world record holder in the 60-meter hurdles. Liu set the world record of 7.36 seconds on March 12, 2006, in Birmingham, England. His record was broken by Terrence Trammell of the United States in 2007.

* 2012 World Short Course Championships champion in the 50-meter freestyle. Liu became the first Chinese swimmer to win a world short course title.

* 2014 Asian Games champion in the 50-meter freestyle. Liu defended his title in 2018.

* Former Asian record holder in the 50-meter freestyle. Liu set the Asian record of 21.56 seconds on May 16, 2012, in Hengyang, China. His record was broken by Ning Zetao of China in 2015.

* 2008 Olympic champion in the 200-meter butterfly. Liu became the first Chinese swimmer to win an Olympic gold medal.

* 2009 World Championships champion in the 200-meter butterfly. Liu defended her title in 2011.

* 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the 200-meter butterfly. Liu finished behind Jiao Liuyang of China and Mireia Belmonte of Spain.

* Former world record holder in the 200-meter butterfly. Liu set the world record of 2:01.81 on August 14, 2008, in Beijing, China. Her record was broken by Jessicah Schipper of Australia in 2009.
