How wealth was Cleopatra?

Cleopatra was extremely wealthy. She was the sole ruler of Egypt, one of the richest and most powerful kingdoms in the ancient world. Egypt produced a large surplus of grain, essential to the stability of both Greece and Rome. Rome depended heavily on Egyptian grain and Cleopatra was able to take advantage of this strategic interdependence to increase royal revenues and assert a formidable amount of power.

Moreover, Cleopatra had complete control over the country’s natural resources, including fertile farmland and valuable minerals, such as gold and silver, which further augmented her personal fortune. These resources allowed her to maintain a lavish lifestyle, fund her military campaigns, and support her political activities.

By the time of her death, Cleopatra had amassed an extraordinary amount of treasure and wealth, which exceeded that of many other rulers of her time. Her personal wealth and control over Egypt's resources played a significant role in shaping her political strategies and securing her position as one of the most powerful and influential figures of the ancient world.
