Give me you tired poor your huddled masses yearling to breathe free?

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" is a line from "The New Colossus," a sonnet by Emma Lazarus. It is inscribed on a plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. The poem was written in 1883 and dedicated to the statue, which was a gift from France in commemoration of the centennial of the American Revolution.
