Was J. D. Rockerfeller a robber baron or captain of industry?

J. D. Rockefeller is considered to be a robber baron by many historians. He is seen as a ruthless businessman who used unethical practices to gain control of the oil industry and amass a vast fortune. Some of the practices he used included:
