Historical story

How came up with the word

The word "came" is derived from the Old English verb "cuman", which means "to come". This verb is thought to have originated from the Proto-Germanic verb "*komaną", which is also the ancestor of the German verb "kommen" and the Dutch verb "komen". The word "came" is therefore related to a number of other words in the English language, such as "come", "coming", and "become".
