The eight people lived together in the Secret Annex for over two years, from July 6, 1942, until they were betrayed and arrested on August 4, 1944. During their time in hiding, they relied on the help of a few trusted Dutch friends and supporters who brought them food, supplies, and news from the outside world.
After their arrest, Otto Frank was the only member of the group to survive the Holocaust. He returned to Amsterdam after the war and published Anne's diary, which became a powerful testament to the horrors of war and the resilience of the human spirit.
