One of the very first teams of Fiorentina (1926-27).
It seems strange to imagine Fiorentina with a shirt other than the purple one, yet when the glorious club was born in 1926, the official uniform had completely different shape and colors from the current ones.
The shirt was in fact half red and half white with a lily on the chest .
The reason is the following:the company was born from the merger between the Club Sportivo Firenze (red shirts) and the Libertas Gymnastics Gym (white shirts), whose colors were therefore united.
This lasted until the president Luigi Ridolfi he was not literally struck by the purple that distinguished the Uijpest uniform , team from Budapest with which Fiorentina played a game.
The manager found that color so beautiful that he decided he wanted to use it for his team.
It was the year 1928 and since then the Tuscan team, for everyone and in particular for its supporters, became "La Viola" .
