The first sneakers “for everyone”:Converse's All Star
Today we all wear them and we appreciate them for their great comfort, but in the 19th century, when they were invented, sneakers represented a small revolution in the field of footwear.
The first sneakers were a consequence of the rubber vulcanization patent registered by Goodyear in '44, only that for a long time these shoes remained the exclusive use of the aristocracy, who used them for walking and practicing outdoor sports, in particular tennis and criket.
In 1917, however, the Converse introduced on the market, for the first time, a type of canvas shoe with rubber sole , the All Star , which spread among the population, meeting the immediate success that it remains practically unchanged to this day.
