One of the first teams of Lazio
Before becoming a football team, Lazio it was a “Company Podistica ” (1900) whose members wore a white and light blue uniform.
The choice of colors was not due to chance, but to a very specific intention, namely that of paying homage to Greece, taking up the colors of the flag, which only 4 years earlier, in 1896, had been the site of the first modern Olympics.
The football team, which with Roma would later give life to the fiery derby of the Capital, was born in 1901 and played in the white jersey.
The blue-white shirt was adopted in 1902 and actually consisted of a checkered flannel shirt.
Given the billionaire football (and too often not very clean and "sporty") we know today, it makes a certain effect to know that these shirts were hand-sewn by the players' families.
The light blue sweater with white profiles , the same as today, arrived in 1910.
