Pantheon University participates in the events for the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution by organizing an international conference on February 18-19, 2021, entitled Greek Revolution, Education and Collective Memory. Transformations of school and public history within the framework of the 1821-2021 Initiative, with the support of the Lambrakis Foundation and in collaboration with the Group for Historical Education in Greece.
The aim of the Conference is threefold:(a) to investigate the pre-revolutionary forms of education as well as the establishment of the first educational institutions during the Struggle and the Kapodistrian period (b) to trace the ways in which the Greek Revolution was taught in the Greek school (primary and secondary education) from 1834 to the present day and (c) to explore the various forms that the memory of the Revolution took in public history.
