The sky itself trembles in his presence. He commands the mysterious hammer Mjolnir to protect Asgard and the earth. The son of Odin, prince of Asgård. He's the god of thunder. He's Thor.
Thor was born to the king of the Asgardian gods, Odin Borson, and the earth goddess Gaea. He grew up in Asgard under Odin's guidance. And trained in his footsteps to one day lead Asgard. Besides Odin, stepmother Frigga and adoptive brother Loki are the only family he knows. Next to his best friends Sif, Balder and Warriors Three.
If you'm a Marvel fan of the live-action Thor franchise, feel free to comment below. In particular, convey your excitement, expectations and fantasies before the release of Thor:Love and Thunder, I would love to read them. The new trailer for Thor:Love and Thunder was launched on May 24, 2022. With juicy details about King Valkyrie, Lady Thorog Gorr, the butcher.
God of Thunder
Throughout his youth, Thor tested his limits on dangerous missions. And he became worthy of the Uru hammer Mjolnir, and used it to save Sif from the goddess of death Hela. While the hammer has destructive forces. It also has the power to build, and Thor also uses it to dedicate treaties and bless weddings.
That the Norse god Thor came of age, he fell through a portal and fought against the demigod Hercules. Equally in strength, they fought until Zeus stopped their encounter. This sends Thor back to Asgard and wipes out the memories of both warriors. During the 9th century, Thor spent time on earth and led the Vikings in battle. It was not until Thor's loyal Vikings attacked a Christian monastery that he turned his back on his followers. By leaving the earth and spending centuries in Asgard.
During his time in Asgard, Odin threw Thor into Siegmund's deadly disguise. Mainly to get the Rhinegold ring from the dragon Fafnir. When Siegmund took away another's wife, Frigga forced Odin to kill Tor, but Tor survived as Siegmund's son Siegfried. Odin succeeds in obtaining the Rhinegold ring from Siegfried, and restores Thor to life without any recollection of his former identity.
Marvel's Thor Timeline
Thor is technically First Avenger
Yes, Carol Danver's alias Captain Marvel was the first person to have the name "Avenger". And Steve Rogers had the name literally in the title of his first film. But when you stop to think about it, the first Avenger in MCU to ever breathe was Thor. The competition is not even close. As Odinson reveals in Infinity War. He is 1,500 years old when the events of the modern MCU roll around.
During that time, Thor has served as a prince of Asgard. He follows the leadership and direction of his father, Odin. And spends plenty of time pondering (and sometimes being stabbed by) his younger brother, Loki. Of the original six Avengers, Thor is also unique as the only royal member on the team. As well as the only hero living outside the world.
By the time he enters the current MCU timeline from the 21st century, Thor has centuries of experience under his belt. On top of that, he acts as heir and a shoo-in for the next king of Asgard. Of course, things do not always go according to plan, especially in MCU.
Thor's insatiable hunger after battle
When Thor's fighting hunger led him to break a treaty. Mainly between Asgard and the Frost Giants, Odin banished him to earth as a lesson in humility in form.
When Loki became a threat and tricked his brother Thor on the ground. Thor saw through his lies and teamed up with Iron Man, the Hulk, to found Avengers. Alongside the Avengers, Thor is a leader, a master of hand-to-hand combat and a talented swordsman.
Worthy of warriors and weapons
Thor, the son of the gods, has improved his life, enhanced by the Golden Apples of Idunn. He also possesses superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, quality and immunity to most diseases.
Thor's greatest weapon, and closest ally, is Mjolnir, an enchanting hammer forged from Uru metal, which has power over storms and can generate energy explosions known as anti-force. Thor uses this hammer to evoke rain, wind, lightning and thunder. Although he is also known for producing lightning from his hands. While Mjolnir can manipulate weather patterns, it expands the deity and many other abilities of its boss. When spun, the club can allow Thor to fly, soar and even open portals to other dimensions and realms. While thrown away, it acts as a kind of boomerang, destroying all things or creatures along the way before returning to the owner.
When Thor became unworthy to hold Mjølnir, he used Jarnbjørn, a deadly war ax.
Early life
Loki
The young Thor grew up with Loki, who went the way of adopting Odin after Loki's Frost Giant father, Laufey, who succumbs to his injuries in battle. Throughout his childhood, Loki was jealous of Thor. Loki's jealousy, which grew into hatred, resulted in a desire to kill Thor. Thus began Loki's enmity with Thor, which lasted for many centuries.
Flour
For example, when Thor was eight, Odin sent him to Nidavellir, the land of the dwarves. Mainly to ask the dwarves Lord Brokk and Eitri to make three treasures for Asgard's ruler. Among the three treasures that Brokk and Eitri created was the Uru hammer Mjolnir. Although Loki sabotages the creation of the hammer. So that the handle is too short to distract the dwarves' gunsmiths). Odin bestowed on the hammer various enchantments, including one that made it impossible for anyone to lift. Except for someone who is really worthy to use it. Odin then declared that he reserved for Thor the use of Mjølnir.
He would receive it the day when great deeds of selfless bravery had proved worthy of its power. (Many of the stories contradict each other. This story about Mjølner's origins is in contrast to another record that shows that Odin used Mjølnir long before Thor was born). For years, Thor strived to become physically strong enough to use the hammer and was responsible for many heroic deeds. Finally, when Thor was sixteen, his father forces him and his friends Balder and Sif on a mission to teach him what the true requirement is to use Mjolnir, who has a pure heart.
Sif
Thor became Asgard's greatest warrior. Before Thor was twenty, he had fallen in love with the goddess Lady Sif. The Snowgaints kidnap Sif and she ends up as a prisoner of Hela. Thor offers his own life in exchange for Sif's freedom. The goddess of fascination takes hold of the nobility of the young god of thunder as she lets them both go. The romance between Sif and Thor grew and diminished over the centuries.
Founder of Avengers
A short year later, Thor returns to Asgard. He's returned to earth by his father - not as an exile, though. This time he comes with the express purpose of getting his brother Loki. After discovering that he was not dead, he plans an invasion of Midgard. When he arrives, Thor quickly encounters the unified team of the Avengers. Immediately resolve it with Iron Man before Captain America convinces them that they should not fight with each other.
When Loki's manipulations force several of the earth's most powerful heroes to unite to stop the Hulk. Thereafter, Thor becomes a fundamental member of the superhuman masters known as the Avengers.
From there, Thor joins the slowly composed team on SHIELD's Helicarrier. Here he participates in the discussion about what to do with his brother, and provides insight into Loki's past. The god of thunder even helps to contain the Hulk when the green machine is accidentally loose on the airship.
After Loki ravages the bearer and escapes, Thor goes to the Big Apple. This is where he reunites with the Avengers and takes part in the Battle of New York. The Asgardian plays a thunderous role in the meeting. With battles hordes of Chitauri and swap battles with his brother again. When the dust settles, Thor takes both Loki and Tesseract back to Asgard. Even if he takes a quick bite of shawarma before setting out on the road.
However, he left the team several times for longer leave.
Thor saves the universe
After the events of 2012 with the Avengers, Thor returns home. In addition, he spends a good deal of time traveling the nine kingdoms and nurturing royal business. While taking on the responsibility, he never stops longing for Jane Foster. But after that, he asks the all-seeing Heimdall to check in on her. Thor is surprised to discover that his far-sighted friend can no longer see her.
This revelation encourages the prince to return to earth to inquire about the whereabouts and safety of his girlfriend. When he arrives, he discovers that the ether has overcome her body and the stone of reality in its "angry slam" form. Worried brings Thor Foster back to Asgard to receive treatment.
In the ensuing chaos, Dark Alves, led by Malekith, attacks Asgard and kills Thor's mother, Frigga. This new threat emerges from the dark elves, the father of the ether inside Jane Foster, and the death of his mother forces Thor to disobey his father again (this time with more noble intentions). He lays out a plan that involves sneaking out of Asgard with Loki to hunt down Malekith before Dark Alf can destroy the universe. With the future drama surrounding Thanos, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that universe savers appear on Thor's CV several times. The hunt eventually leads back to Greenwich, England, where Thor defeats Malekith and actually saves the universe.
Ultron and Infinity Stones
The next significant event that Thor participates in is the war with Ultron in 2015. He helps bring Loki's scepter from Sokovia, and he is present when Ultron, the creature, comes alive in Stark Tower. Then he gives his god-like strength to the fight against the runaway android.
In addition to the superheroes, Thor also goes on a side quest to learn more about a disturbing vision he had gained with Infinity Stones. By this time he had already had several encounters with the gems, including Reality Stone, Space Stone and Mind Stone whose house is in Loki's scepter. He finds Erik Selvig, who takes him to Water of Sights, where he learns, among other things, that a new creature will help destroy Ultron. This asks him to bring his vision to life when he returns to the Avengers.
While the story winds its way to the climactic events in Sokovia, Thor continues to give muscle and firepower to the Avengers' plans, and ultimately plays a crucial role in preventing Ultron's attempts to exterminate humanity through a global catastrophe. With the super-android defeated, Thor leaves to continue the investigation of the Infinity Stones.
The road to Ragnarok
Up to this point, Thor has faithfully played the role of a royal prince, noble warrior and powerful Avenger with perfect, if not particularly convincing, precision. However, two years after the events surrounding Ultron, the character takes a little hard left. His search for Infinity Stones turns out to be fruitless. He and Jane Foster "dump" each other. And by 2017 he will be haunted by a new series of dreams, this time it's about Ragnarok and the destruction of his home world.
After revealing Odin as his brother Loki in disguise, the couple travels to earth in search of their father. Doctor Strange leads them to Norway, where they will have time to say goodbye to their father before he passes away. Although the incident was initially tragic, the incident soon turns into a disaster, as Odin's death frees their evil sister, Hela, from thousands of years in prison.
Hela quickly shows her superior powers, while she destroys Mjolnir without skipping a blow. She then prepares to force her brothers to bow to her so that she can take her place as the rightful queen of Asgard. At this point, Loki mistakenly summons Bifrosten, and lets Hela follow them directly to Asgard. While on the way, she sends the two brothers hurriedly out of the beam and into space, where they are eventually both deposited on the garbage planet Sakaar.
Thor becomes a Revenger
At Sakaar, Thor is captured and forced to fight like a gladiator in the Grand Master's arena, and against his "friend from work", Hulk, no less. After their fight, he helps Bruce Banner regain control of the Hulk and then joins Banner, Valkyrie and Loki in a daring escape. He leads the ragtag band, called Revengers, back to Asgard where they plan to rule Hela.
Back at Asgard, the Revengers defeat the goddess of death, but only by releasing Ragnarok. While Thor's home planet implodes under Surtur's burning heel, the god of thunder escapes with the Revengers and the survivors from Asgard on a ship heading for Earth.
During the short period leading up to Ragnarok, Thor loses his father, his home, most of the people, his hammer and even his eye while fighting his sister. Yet he comes out of the ordeal ready to lead the remnant of his people as their king. Unfortunately, the new king does not even complete the journey to Earth until things take an even darker turn.
Thor, Stormbreaker and Infinity War
Before Thor and the survivors of Asgard come to earth, they are captured by Thanos and his forces. The ensuing encounter leaves half of the Asgardians - including Loki - dead, the ship in ragged ruins, and Thor floating through space with little or no chance of rescue. But when all hope seems to be gone, the Guardians of the Galaxy, who respond to an emergency signal, arrive at the scene and save the king of Asgard from a cool death in space.
Thor should have gone for his head
Thanos arrives in Wakanda in search of the last Infinity Stone not long after Thor. And in a final attempt, the king of Asgard proves stronger than any of the other heroes and gets a solid attack on Mad Titan with Stormbreaker. However, he aims at the villain's chest, and inadvertently lets the wounded but not at all defeated Thanos snap his fingers and then disappear.
Thor is devastated by his failure. A month later, however, Avengers discovers Thanos living in retirement on another planet. And the group jumps at the possibility of revenge. They take Thanos into custody, only to quickly find out that the Infinity Stones are destroyed. But it is too late to regret the snap. In a rage, Thor takes Thanos' previous advice and beheads the villain with a single blow.
Over the next five years, Thor helps to find New Asgard on Earth. But he eventually leaves the bulk of the company to Valkyrie. In the meantime, he retires with his friends, Korg and Miek. And spends his time drinking beer, playing video games and slowly slipping into an overweight, discouraged state of major depression.
Thor's resurgence in Avengers:Endgame
Hulk and Rocket arrive in New Asgard five full years after the snap. Consequently, they try to recruit the fat Thor to the Avengers' attempt to travel back in time. To undo the damage Thanos has caused. While Thor is initially reluctant, he eventually agrees to join the venture. But only when he has given a promise of a whole lot of beer.
From there, Odinson finds out that his task is to travel time with Rocket back to Asgard in 2013. Also, to the day when his mother dies, to pick up Aether. Once in Asgard, however, Thor panics and tries to escape from his responsibility. And leaves Rocket to take care of the unpleasant matter all on his own. Meanwhile, Thor has a heart-to-heart with his mother and finds new hope. He summons Mjolnir and joins Rocket. Together with the two, they return to the present, and arrive at the Avengers facility in the state of New York.
Infinity Stones is with Avengers
When all the Infinity Stones are gathered. Thor offers to be the one to snap Stark's Infinity Gaunlet since he is the strongest Avenger. However, he eventually exposes himself to Hulk, who takes on the responsibility due to his affiliation with gamma radiation. After that, Thor is supercharged once again, albeit still overweight. He plays a heroic role in the final battle to rule Thanos. By using both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker until he lends the former to the very worthy Captain America.
Thor:Love and Thunder
After the last battle with Thanos is over and the mad titan has turned to ashes. Now Thor finally finds himself free to go his way for the first time in eternity. He surrenders his kingdom to the extremely skilled Valkyrie. And then take a trip with the Guardians of the Galaxy. A move that immediately causes friction between himself and the crew captain, Star-Lord.
Thor tries to find inner peace. He must return to action and recruit Valkyrie, Korg and Jane Foster, who have become the mighty Thor, to stop the butcher Gorr from eliminating all gods.
