At the beginning of the 20th century, the Magdeburg Western Cemetery, or Westfriedhof, opened its doors. in German. Today this historic cemetery houses the mortal remains of hundreds of people who died between 1933 and 1945.
The burials of women from various fields outside the Buchenwald concentration camp stand out. Prisoners from this same camp are also buried here, who were murdered a few days before its liberation.
