Lexington and Concord are towns in Massachusetts, United States. The Battle of Lexington and Concord took place in these two towns on April 19, 1775. The battle was the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. The battle started when British soldiers marched to Concord to destroy a cache of weapons that the American militia had stored there. The American militia was able to defeat the British soldiers at Lexington and Concord. The Battle of Lexington and Concord is considered to be the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.
