How many Charles ruled England?

Three monarchs have ruled England and the United Kingdom under the name of Charles; they are:

- Charles I (1625-1649): Charles I was the son of James VI of Scotland and Anne of Denmark. He ruled as king of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1625 until his execution in 1649.

- Charles II (1660-1685): Charles II was the son of Charles I and Henrietta Maria of France. He was restored to the throne in 1660 after the overthrow of the Commonwealth of England.

- Charles III (2022-Present): Charles III is the son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He became king upon the death of his mother in 2022.
