Who put together the earliest seven wonders list and why?

The earliest list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was compiled by a Greek historian named Herodotus in the 5th century BCE. Herodotus based his list on descriptions of ancient structures that he had seen or heard about during his travels. The seven wonders he included were:

* The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt

* The Hanging Gardens of Babylon in Mesopotamia

* The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus in Greece

* The Statue of Zeus at Olympia in Greece

* The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus in Turkey

* The Colossus of Rhodes in Greece

* The Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt

These wonders were chosen for their impressive architecture and engineering, as well as their historical and cultural significance. They remained popular tourist destinations for centuries, and their ruins can still be seen today.
