Cyrus was the first great Persian emperor who promoted the expansion of the then Persian Kingdom. The first peoples subjugated by Cyrus, who before him dominated the Persian Kingdom, were the:

Under the command of Cyrus the Great, the Persian Empire knew its first period of expansion, having as its East-West limit a territorial strip that stretched from western India to the Greek cities of Asia Minor. - respect for the cultural and religious differences of the conquered peoples.
- disrespect for cultural and religious differences.
- imposition of Zoroastrianism as a religion to be followed by all peoples.
- refusal to ally with the local elites of the dominated territories.
When Cyrus the Great conquered the city of Babylon for the Persian Empire, he freed him from captivity imposed by Nebuchadnezzar, a well-known ancient people inhabiting the Palestinian region. What was this people freed:
