When did pop art end?

The Pop art movement can be said to have ended around the late 1970s, although this is somewhat dependent on the definition of the term. It had declined in popularity in the art market by the early 1970s, and a new generation of art movements (such as Photorealism and Conceptual art) moved into the mainstream by the mid-1970s. However, many Pop artists continued to make important contributions to the art world after this time.
