How did he die Louis-Joseph de Montcalm?

Louis-Joseph de Montcalm died on September 14, 1759, during the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, the decisive battle of the Seven Years' War in Canada. While leading the French forces in an attempt to retake Quebec City from British invaders, Montcalm was struck in the chest by a cannonball. He was carried from the field and died the following day. Montcalm's death marked the end of French rule in Canada and the beginning of British dominance over the region.
