Three penny coins produced between 1921 and 1927 and marked with a "G" mintmark were made from 50% silver and 50% copper. Three pence pieces produced in the same time period without the "G" were minted using nickel and brass. Today, a silver 1922 three pence coin is worth anywhere from £2 to £15 while the value of a nickel 1922 three pence piece falls closer to £1 or £2.
