How much lead was in a musket ball?

Musket balls were typically made of lead, and their weight varied depending on the caliber of the musket. The most common musket ball was the .75 caliber, which weighed around 14 grams (0.5 ounces) and was made of pure lead. However, some muskets used larger caliber balls, such as the .90 caliber, which weighed around 28 grams (1 ounce). These larger balls were often made of a mixture of lead and tin, which made them harder and more resistant to deformation.
