Eudes(? - 735)

A warrior of obscure origin, Eudes won a prestigious victory against the Arabs under the walls of Toulouse in 721, marking a halt to Islamic expansion. In 732, again threatened, he appealed to his neighbour, the illustrious Charles Martel. Together, they won the victory of Poitiers.
