Who invented line art?

Line art does not have a known specific inventor. It emerged as an artistic technique in various cultures throughout history. The roots of line art can be traced back to ancient times, such as the cave art produced by prehistoric people, where simple lines were used to depict scenes and figures. Over time, line art developed further in different regions and different eras, with notable examples in ancient Egyptian art, Greek vase painting, and traditional Chinese ink wash paintings. Therefore, it is not attributable to a single individual or culture.
