What percent of the diamonds are blood diamonds?

The Kimberley Process, established in 2003, has significantly reduced the number of conflict diamonds on the market, making it challenging to provide a precise percentage. However, in the past, estimates based on United Nations reports suggested that blood diamonds could have constituted up to 4% of the global rough diamond trade in the late 1990s, particularly during violent conflicts in regions like Sierra Leone and Angola. Nevertheless, due to international efforts towards responsible sourcing and traceability of diamonds, the percentage has substantially decreased since then.
