Why is cactus hill really important?

Cactus Hill is a relatively new neighborhood located on the southeast side of the city of San Angelo, Texas. It is notable for being the first planned LEED-certified neighborhood in Texas.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building certification program that recognizes buildings, homes and communities that are designed and built using strategies that aim to reduce the negative impact on the environment. Cactus Hill was designed to meet LEED standards, incorporating sustainable practices such as water conservation, energy efficiency, use of recycled materials, and reduction of waste.

By achieving LEED certification, Cactus Hill demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. It serves as a benchmark for other communities and developments to follow, contributing to the larger effort of conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable urban planning and design.
