What type of bread is eaten by the polish on Christmas?

The Polish eat a special bread called "makowiec" on Christmas. Makowiec is a sweet, yeast-based bread that is filled with a poppy seed filling. The poppy seed filling is made with ground poppy seeds, sugar, honey, and spices. The bread is then rolled up and baked. Makowiec is traditionally served with a cup of tea or coffee.
