On the occasion of the 8th edition of the National Archeology Days (JNA), including Sciences et Avenir is a partner, the public is invited to discover this scientific discipline in a fun way. From Friday June 16 until Sunday June 18, 2017, museums, archaeological sites, archive centres, tourist offices and many other organizations are joining forces to present the different facets of this fascinating field of research.
More than 1,200 events scheduled throughout the country
This event, piloted by the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (Inrap) and under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, mobilizes all those involved in archeology, in mainland France and overseas, to raise public awareness of the diversity of our heritage. These three days are also an opportunity to present the latest advances in research in this field.
Conferences, demonstrations, excavation sites, tastings and many other activities are planned on the program. In total, more than 1200 events will take place throughout the territory. These special days also allow access to excavation sites and research centers that are usually closed to the general public. The event is also an opportunity to meet archaeologists and therefore why not, to reveal vocations!
