General Condition

Wat Phikun is a temple that is still in use today. Located along the Bang Chuek Nang Canal north side On the east side there is a small canal flowing through it.

Wat Phikun is 1.5 kilometers west of Wat Thong Bang Ramat, 2.3 kilometers west of Wat Ko Ma, 800 meters south of Khlong Bang Noi and about 3 kilometers west of Khlong Chak Phra. kilometers

The area is a lowland, flooded, and the environment is an urban community. Although the north and east of the temple is a large garden area. The south side is adjacent to Khlong Bang Chuek Nang.

Wat Phikun is a royal temple. Before 1944, Wat Phikun had 2 Luangta statues, each with an ubosot and a wooden cloister along the canal. There are no temples or other structures. There is no bridge over the canal. Later, Luang Por Huan came to live in this temple where he built a small bamboo bridge. Used to cross the Bang Chuek Nang canal (Saran Thongpan 2006? :130)

Around 1954, the first water pavilion was built. (attached to Luang Por Huan's cubicle at present) with a wooden cubicle in front up another back Later, a pavilion was built in 1956 with the second pavilion and the Mondop enshrined the Buddha's footprint (Saran Thongpan 2006? :130)

The upper front gable is a standing Buddha image holding an alms bowl in an alcove. flanked by tiered angels The lower part is the history of the Buddha in the first sermon. Prayoon Uluchata traveled to explore in 1970 recorded that the ubosot of Wat Phikun is old. There is brickwork on the front wall up to the chicken breast. But later was added to a lot. Understand that it is probably an old temple (Prayoon Uluchata 1971 :106)

shortly after 1970-1971 There was a demolition of the former chapel that had deteriorated. Then began to build a new chapel in 1971 until it was completed, burying Luk Nimit in 1974 (Wichayada Thongpang and Saran Thongpan 2012 :185)

This new ubosot was built on the land that used to be a school (built in 1965) with the school moved to the back. and rebuilt into a 2-storey wooden building. It is now the site of the funeral. in the west of the ordination hall (Wichayada Thongkham and Sarun Thongpan 2012:185)

Wat Phikun has a project to raise the chapel to get out of the flood level that is always flooding. to earn money to spend on renovations Therefore, it has been opened for Buddhists to pass under the ubosot since November 2005.

The Temple It is located in the east of the ordination hall. Inside enshrines the original Buddha image from the former ubosot. There are also replicas of Buddha images from various sacred Buddha images such as Luang Pho Sothon and Luang Pho Wat Ban Laem.

Mondop Phra Phutthabat Built in the reign of Luang Por Huan a concrete building The pattern is similar to the Buddha's footprint. Same contemporary in other Taling Chan temples such as Prasat Temple, Taling Chan Temple and Mondop Temple.

The old cloister of Luang Por Huan (former abbot) The temple still preserves the utensils of Luang Por Huan. (former abbot), which has the idea that it will open as a museum.

In addition, within the temple, there are more than 10 Buddha images in the Rattanakosin period in various postures.

The temple has provided the teaching of Phra Pariyat Dharma since 1954 and also purchased the land adjacent to the temple on the west, area 4 rai 26 square wa, and then built the Wat Phikun School in 1965 to teach elementary school. (Currently under Bangkok)
