archaeological essence

Wat Sing is located in the Aranyik district of Kamphaeng Phet, next to Wat Phra Si Iriyat to the north. The measurement plan is rectangular. There are laterite walls around all 4 sides. Important buildings within the temple include

In the east end is a large base building with two floors stacked. The lower base or Thaksin base is made into the form of a chicken breast lotus base. The side walls were made of laterite, slightly elevated from the base. The front platform found evidence of stucco lion decorations and laterite gates with a laterite core, which is the origin of the temple's name. On the royal courtyard, there are eight pedestal pedestals around the palace. It made it known that the building built on Thaksin's base was an ordination hall. But when looking inside the building, a monk's altar was found along the south wall. Therefore, it is known that this building was originally used as a temple before. For the parapet, some slate carved leaves are carved with flora designs in a triangular frame and the edges are carved in rows of Kranok-tipped patterns that are Ayuthaya patterns.

next to the base of the chapel It is the main chedi surrounded by a glass wall. The main chedi is left with only a square base in front of the board and a square lotus base at the bottom to form an amulet protruding on all 4 sides or 4 directions. The chedi is made of bricks which is different from other main chedi. laterite The top of the pagoda was completely destroyed. From studying the original shape of the chedi from old photographic evidence in the reign of King Rama V and evidence from excavations that found a piece of lotus Pak Rakhang around the base of the chedi, it is assumed that The original shape of the main chedi of Wat Sing was a bell-shaped chedi with a square base with a square base added to stack up several levels. This chedi was found at Wat Kamphaeng Ngam in Aranyik Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District.

In addition, on the side and back of the Phutthawat area or outside the Kaew wall, there are many building bases of various sizes, probably the base of the pavilion and the base of the cubicle in the Sangkhawat area (the Fine Arts Department 2009 :85 – 88).
