The origin of the New Year

Called in Roman times “ Caledae Ianuariae ”, From 332 AD is celebrated in Rome as a liturgical feast of the Circumcision of Jesus Christ .
It is the civil New Year for almost all countries in the world, and religious for Catholics, Anglicans and evangelists.
Orthodox Christians celebrate the New Year on January 14 .

In the West January 1 starts the solar year, in China the year begins with the first new moon in the sign of " Aquarius ".

The Muslims (which have 622 AD as the starting year of the dates) follow a lunar-solar calendar and the date of the New Year, as for the Chinese, varies every year .

Indians, Persians, Kurds it will be inaugurated on 21 March , the B Uddists of Sri Lanka start the year on April 14 . In September the Jewish New Year is celebrated and the ancient Christian-Coptic New Year .
