The Gauls, so strange and so familiar

With this summer issue, History &Civilizations is enriched with new appointments. Each month, an article entitled "L'air du temps" will deepen a subject that, beyond the foam of the news, "works" our time. This month, with the 60th anniversary of the missile crisis which opposed, around Cuba, the American Kennedy to the Soviet Khrushchev, it is an opportunity to return to this confrontation which brought the abyss of peril close to nuclear. As this terrifying threat returns to haunt us, we discover that enemies then, by reason, found ways to avoid a tragic spiral into a war of no return.

With "History coming out" , we offer you an outing (cinema, concert, heritage visit, etc.), with an educational point that will refresh your general knowledge.

Finally, on the last page of this magazine, a historian will answer in detail a "reader's question" about history. So what questions do you ask yourself? Do not hesitate to send us one, expressing it clearly and precisely, to this address:[email protected]

For the rest of the issue you have in your hands, you will find all your usual appointments, in particular the large file, devoted to the Gauls:what does this lost Gaul have to tell us today? A lot. It's like a reunion.
