The Pyramids of Giza:Ancient Cemeteries or Science Marvel?

Introduction to the pyramids around the world

The pictures above show some of the popular Egyptian pyramids. The pyramid is a three-dimensional geometric figure. It consists of a square base and four equilateral triangular sides. There have been many monuments built in the form of a pyramid around the world in the old days. It is found today in places such as Central America, Greece, China and Egypt. In China and Egypt, they were built as tombs to preserve the bodies of ancient kings / pharaohs (as they are called in Egypt) and leaders. While most of the pyramids of the Maya and Aztecs of Central America and Mesoamerica were temples, a religious place of worship used by Hindus and Buddhists. But some of them had burial chambers.

There are a total of 138 identified pyramids in Egypt. Initially, the Egyptians were known to have tombs built in box-shaped structures. Thus, Pharaoh's first tombs were flat and known as "Mastabas". And later they began to build large tombs by laying layers on top, similar to placing rectangular strips on top of each other in decreasing size. These are known as “Step-by-Step Pyramids.” An example of such a step-by-step pyramid in Egypt is the Djoser Pyramid.

The construction of this stepped pyramid is believed to have inspired the successors of the Egyptian pharaohs, who built the monumental pyramids of Giza during their reign. This post focuses mainly on the pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The Pyramids of Giza, located on the outskirts of Cairo, are the largest of all. There are three pyramids in Giza that were built on the west bank of the Nile, Giza in northern Egypt. The names of the three pyramids come from the corresponding kings of the fourth dynasty, for whom they were built.

The name of the pyramid Current location Pharaoh / Dynasty Approximate dimensions of the structure
The Djoser Pyramid Sakkara Djoser / 3. dynasty Each side of the base =120 meters
Height =62 meters (with 6 levels)
The Pyramid of Giza - First Northernmost Khufu / King II, 4th dynasty Each side of the base =230 meters
Height =147 meters
The Pyramid of Giza - other Middle Khafre / Kong IV, 4th dynasty Each side of the base =216 meters
Height =143 meters
The Pyramid of Giza - Third Southernmost Menkaure / Kong V, 4th dynasty Each side of the base =109 meters
Height =66 meters

Of these, the most popular is the Khufu Pyramid, also known as the Great Pyramid. It has been the largest and tallest man-made structure on the planet for many thousands of years.

How was the great pyramid built?

After seeing when, where and who built the Great Pyramid, let's dig into how the pyramid came to be. The following are the physical observations of the man-made wonder:

The interior of the pyramid

  • The entrance to the Great Pyramid is to the north, 18 meters above ground level.
  • When you enter the sloping corridor and go straight, you will end up in an incomplete underground chamber of rocky soil.
  • There is a rising path from the corridor, 46 meters straight. This will lead to a tomb chamber located on a higher level, known as the King's chamber.
    • This chamber is lined and completely covered with granite.
    • Above this are five rooms separated by granite slabs, most likely to balance the heavy force exerted on the chamber by the masonry above.
  • From the diversion of the ascending path, if you cross straight, you will find the Queen's chamber, also built of granite.
  • There are shafts running from both chambers to the outside of the pyramid.

Outside of the pyramid

  • Each of the sides rises at a 51 degree angle and is precisely oriented towards the cardinal.
  • The core of the pyramid consists of yellowish limestone blocks, and the outer cover and inner passages are made of finer, light-colored limestone.
  • Approximately 2.3 million boulders were used to build the 5.75 million tonne structure.
  • The remains that still prove the architectural finesse include seamless joints on the walls and shiny blocks of limestone.

Based on the observations above and given the fact that it was built near the Nile, it is believed by historians that it must have taken about 20 years to complete it using almost 100,000 male workers. There is a convincing speculation that the people who farmed along the banks helped build the gigantic structure only when they had time off. So the time it takes to complete the construction may be crucial.

In the year 2013, when archaeologist Pierre Tallet discovered the oldest known papyrus with text to this day, in the Egyptian desert near the Red Sea. It became known as the "Diary of Lakes" and paved the way for a confirmed idea of how the huge boulders, limestones, statues were all transported to build the Great Pyramid. When such a fantastic structure has to be raised, without a lot of technology, it should have the easiest way out of the available resources then. The white limestone was transported from Tura by boat across the Nile. The granite may have been taken from Aswan. Each block is assumed to weigh 2-3 tons. So if the blocks had to be pulled over sand every time, it would have created a large deposit of sand on the construction site, which made it more difficult to build. They could not have used wheels since it is a desert. Thus, the quarries are believed to have been brought to the construction site using a wooden sledge up and down the river.

The large stones or stones were hammered into smaller pieces by placing a wooden wedge in the natural stone surfaces and then soaking them in water. When the tree expands and absorbs water, it will naturally break the rock. These were then transported to the site. The foundation of the structure was accurately leveled to 2 centimeters, which is not an easy task, with the amount of tools and technology available at the time. Given the other mathematical aspects of the architecture, such as the angle of inclination of the triangular side, perfect orientation along with the cardinal directions and so on, it is truly a mysterious piece of work to admire.

The theories above are most likely events from the past. There is still no conclusive evidence to clearly tell us exactly how the tomb was planned and built.

Why was the great pyramid built?

This is the most curious question. There are two approaches to the answer:spiritual and scientific. Spiritually, all were built for the resurrection of their kings, who held a divine position in Egyptian society between God and man. Scientifically, the Great Pyramid in particular could have been a space station on Earth that sends signals to space, or a coded mathematical monument left by our ancestors for us to decipher the meaning of time and space.

Pyramids that dig

Historically, it has been said that the pyramids were the resurrection sites of the god who was said to choose people, "pharaohs", whose spirits will leave the world to become God's afterlife. They believed that part of Pharaoh's soul known as "ka" needed an earthly home. Thus, their bodies were preserved along with things needed for their new world of survival, such as food, furniture, gold vessels and other items. It was also believed that this would protect the people of the kingdom from disasters and help to live a happy life.

Near all the pyramids there are "mortuary temples" laid to embrace the soul of Pharaoh. The smooth, angled sides of the pyramid symbolized the sun's rays. It was designed to help the king's soul ascend to heaven and join the gods, especially the sun god, "Ra".

The axes from the chambers to the surface of the pyramid seemed to lead the soul from earth to heaven. The Great Pyramid was built large enough to be clearly visible from space on satellite images. This is a special connection between this specific pyramid and the sky.

The Great Pyramid:Perhaps with a Greater Purpose

The previous part provided cultural reasons based on Egyptian mythology for the construction of such a massive structure decades ago. But many facts about the Great Pyramid gave astonishing speculation to scientists, who believed that being just a tomb was a small purpose to serve, which, made by the efforts and knowledge involved to maintain such precision in architecture.

This picture shows the interior of the Great Pyramid. It glowed with finely polished limestone on the outside, which made it a perfect light reflector. Some say that the top coat could have been made of gold.

From the above-mentioned cross-section of the interior of the Great Pyramid, it also qualified to be treated as a machine instead of just the tombs of the pharaohs, according to some engineers and technologists. The underground chamber is proof in itself. It was proved by an engineer named John Cadman, who modeled such a chamber and tried to experiment with it by feeding it with water. It was observed that the water would flow down to the subsoil which was about 330 feet below, and when it bypassed a valve, it was found to produce shock waves that hit the roof exactly below the King's chamber.

Since the chambers are all built with granite, it is a material used in microphones or telephones. It acts as a transducer that converts mechanical vibrations due to sound into electricity by emitting electrons proportional to the frequency of vibrations. Thus, the shock waves produced by the introduction of water can actually cause vibrations that control the granite parts of the pyramid. Then you can also consider a pyramid as a machine that can help vibrate the granites inside and produce electromagnetic energy. Studies show the possibility that the pyramids could have sent microwave signals to space, to a satellite to communicate with extraterrestrial beings, similar to the SETI program where we have sent signals from Earth now.

Mathematical Marvel:The Key to Discovering Time, Space, and the Creation of Planet Earth

Nikola Tesla is a renowned engineer who invented the design of generators that have been used worldwide to this day. He believed that the earth could be a generator that rotates between two magnetic poles that can be used to utilize an unlimited amount of power when it is tapped with the right shape or medium on the device.
    • He proposed what is called the "Tesla electromagnetic pyramid", which is a way of generating electricity from the rotating earth itself. It resembled the triangular shape of a pyramid.
    • But it is believed that he realized through his research that it was more than form. It was the location of the pyramid that created the power.
    • He continued to build a model, near Colorado Springs and then on the east coast, based on the laws of construction followed by the Pyramids of Giza.
    • But discovery and unity remain a mystery after his death.
    • The location of the pyramid is about 30 degrees north. The deviation may be due to the fact that the latitude was derived based on astronomy. Due to the lens effect of the Earth's atmosphere, there is a slight difference between equine latitudes and their astronomical latitudes.
    • This value is special because it is exactly one third of the way from the equator to the North Pole.
  • The exact latitude coordinate of the Great Pyramid is 29.9736897 degrees north. This is exactly equal to the speed of light in vacuum at meters per second, which is 299,736,897 XNUMX XNUMX meters / second.
  • It is aligned within 360. of a degree north. Physicists today believe that the smallest difference in the degree of alignment may be due to the fact that the earth's axis / oscillation changes and thus changing the current cardinal north would make up this difference, even if it was adjusted exactly in the past. This pyramid is seen as the most accurately aligned structure on earth to the true north in the past.
  • The location on earth also shows importance. When circles are drawn through the directions of order and cardinal, the circumference is meant to cover most of the land mass on earth. Thus, the pyramid is technically at the center of the earth's mass.
  • The unit of measure used was "Royal Cubit"
    • 1 Royal Cubit =1.86 ft =1 / 25,000,000 XNUMX XNUMX X (diameter of Poland on Earth)
    • That is, an ounce is exactly equal to twenty-five millionths of the pole diameter of the earth
    • If you cut the entire length from the North Pole to the South Pole into 25 million equal pieces, each one is 1 acre.
  • The length of the base is 365,242 alen. This is exactly the number of days the earth would take to complete one revolution around the sun.

Takeaway from the Great Pyramid

It is clear that the purpose of building the "Great Pyramid" (Pyramid of Khufu in Giza) is attributed to both spiritual and scientific causes. When Egyptologists choose to believe that it was just a tomb, it is too naive to dismiss the whole mass of scientific figures related to it as pure coincidence. Let alone the scientific theories, the truth revealed by the natural language of the universe - "Mathematics and numbers" are just not something that can be neglected.
