First test flight of PA's Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 (vid./pics)

On Sunday 19 January 2020, Air Force Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 took off from Biggin Hill Airport in Great Britain for its first test flight in 67 years, which was a complete success. /em>

The flight was attended by the Vice-President and legal representative of the "Ikaros" Foundation, Mr. Dimitrios Kolias, together with the veteran aviator of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom, George Dunn DFC, who was the Airman who delivered the aircraft to Greece in February 1947 As is well known, the "Ikaros" Foundation has undertaken entirely at its own expense the reconstruction of the aircraft and its return to flying condition.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the Chief of the General Air Staff, Lieutenant General (I) George Blioumis, received in his office the Vice President of the "Ikaros" Foundation where they discussed the reconstruction process of the Spitfire MJ-755 aircraft, as well as the future of all of Greek Historic Aircraft.
