The process of rebuilding the Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 aircraft of the Air Force (PA) is in its final stage. As is known, a relevant contract of free concession of use has already been signed by the PA, to the non-profit "IKAROS" Foundation, which has undertaken exclusively at its own expense the reconstruction of the aircraft and its return to airworthy condition.

The aircraft in question was transferred by the "IKAROS" Foundation to the facilities of the Special Center for the Maintenance and Reconstruction of Historic Spitfire Aircraft "The Spitfire Company Ltd" in Biggin Hill, Great Britain, where it has been since April 2018. According to the Vice President of the Foundation " IKAROS", Mr. Dimitris Kolia, most of the restoration work has been completed and it is expected within the next few days to enter the phase of flight tests.

Based on the planning, it is estimated that within the first quarter of 2020 a flight permit will be granted by the civil aviation authority of the United Kingdom, in order for the aircraft to arrive in Greece.
