History of North America

41st President of the United States George Herbert Walker Bush

In America's long history, only John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and Bush have become presidents.

I would like to take a look at George HW Bush, also known as Papa Bush in Japan.

George HW Bush before becoming president

George HW Bush was born in Massachusetts in 1924.

Although his father was a member of the family, he joined the Navy after graduating from high school during World War II, was assigned to the Pacific Front, and was shot down by the Japanese Army during a flight mission off the coast of Ogasawara. I have the experience of being saved by my allies from my life.

George is basically a pretty good pilot, eventually receiving five medals and being promoted to Lieutenant Navy before retiring.

After returning to Japan, he went on to Yale University, and after graduating he engaged in the oil business in Texas.

In 1964, he became a member of the Texas election. Inaugurated and became Vice President during the Reagan era.

After being elected president in 1988, George HW Bush became the 41st President of the United States.

41st President of the United States

It can be said that the world under the Bush administration was an unprecedented period of change.

In 1989, Eastern European countries withdrew from the Soviet Union one after another, the Berlin Wall collapsed, Bush met with Gorbachev of the Soviet Union on Malta, and the end of the Cold War was declared.

After that, the Soviet Union collapsed in 1993, and the United States reigned over the world as the only superpower.

There was no country to stop America anymore.

In 1989, U.S. forces were dispatched to overthrow Panama's Noriega administration, and in 1990, when Iraq led by Saddam Hussein invaded neighboring country Quate, the U.S. forces declared war on Iraq and the Gulf War began. ..

George Bush, who admitted to the police of the world and plunged into problems around the world, did not recover at all in terms of domestic affairs, and was defeated by Clinton who advocated economic recovery measures in the second presidential election. After all, he became president for only one term.

After his retirement, he did not perform any noticeable activity and supported his son from behind.

In 2018, George Bush died. He was 94 years old.

Personal evaluation of George Bush

George Bush, like the president of the Republican Party, had a politics that was kind to the wealthy. He is also confident in the oil business, grasping the situation in each country in the strong connection with the CIA, and actively intervening in South America and Africa.

Bush's policy, represented by the term "world police," has taken over Reagan's strong United States and received strong support from within the United States.

However, he was not particularly noteworthy in the domestic affairs and could not correct the recession that continued from Nixon, so he became a one-time president, which is rare in American history.
