Sigebert III(631 - 656)

Son of Dagobert I and Ragnetrude. His father places him on the throne of Austrasia at the age of three. The Austrasian Duke Adalgisel then became his tutor. In 640, Grimoald became mayor of the palace, and involved him at the age of 10 in a war against Thuringia. Sigebert will marry a pretty Irishwoman, Emnechildis. Under pressure from Grimoald, Sigebert adopted the latter's son under the name of Childebert. But on his death, Sigebert named his son Dagobert II king of Austrasia. Grimoald then had the mother and her son exiled to a monastery in Ireland.
