General Condition

Chedi Phu That is an abandoned chedi that has been excavated and restored. Located in the front lawn or on the east side of the Nong Yao Subdistrict Administrative Organization building It has been well cared for and nurtured by locals.

The condition of the area is a small hill. It is about 10 meters higher than the surrounding plains, about 7 kilometers south of the Pa Sak River and about 2 kilometers east of Khlong Nong Saeng or Nong Khuean Chang canal.

Geological conditions

The type of rock of this hill is the same set of rocks as the eastern mountain range of Saraburi Province, continuation with Nakhon Ratchasima Province. including the mountains in the Khao Sam Lan National Park near this hill in the east is a type of volcanic igneous rock Permian-Triassic, 260-220 million years old.

Chedi Phu That, no evidence of construction but from the excavation and restoration of the chedi of the Fine Arts Department Found a brick plate with Thai characters inscription. Although the complete translation of the text is not readable but from the form of the letters inscribed Age can be determined during the late Ayutthaya period to the early Rattanakosin period. Therefore, Chedi Phu That is an important evidence of the locality that shows that People have settled as a community in Nong Yao Sub-district since at least the late Ayutthaya period.

The archaeological site has a base of a chedi made of bricks, the plan is square. The length of each side is about 5 meters. The remaining base is a chopping board base 2 layers above it is the lower part of the base.

The construction uses bricks of 2 sizes. From the collapse, the internal structure can be seen, with the technique of building a room in the gap of each room using small stones and compacted clay.

On the side or south side of the chedi, there is "Chao Pho Khun Thong Dam" (the current court was established in 2009). It is highly respected by Nong Yao people and those working in Nong Yao Subdistrict Administrative Organization. On the east side of the stupa, there is a table where offerings are placed. along with the white dress that the faithful bring to offer.

Phuthat Chedi in the past should be important. Because it is located on a hill that stands out among the surrounding plains. making it possible to see the pagoda from every direction It may be one of the important landmarks in this area.
