Kantang Railway Station It is the last station of the Southern Railway. Andaman Sea

Kantang Railway Station Building It is a one-story wooden building, hip-shaped, currently painted in mustard yellow and brown. The building is divided into 2 parts:the private building and the platform. There is a porch building in front. The corners of the pillars are decorated with openwork patterns. The building itself is made up of rooms with stilted wooden walls with beard-style vents and diagonal slats on old wooden doors. As for the hall, there is a wooden balustrade fence with a small door to separate the space. Behind the building is a platform with a separate gable roof. The pillars supporting the roof of the platform are supported by openwork wood.

The interior is still in use today. It is the work place of the railway officers. And there is a room to display items, appliances or equipment in the past. This is the historical evidence of the only railway line that goes all the way to the Andaman Sea. making Kantang a port, trade and transportation center of the West Coast both domestically and internationally.

Kantang Railway Station was born from the construction of the Southern Railway from Phetchaburi to Malay in 1910, which was the last year of King Rama V and construction began in 1911 in the reign of King Rama VI.

Kantang-Thung Song Railway It is a junction on the west side that is constructed from Kantang up to Thung Song District. because of the steel rails and various machinery In those days, they had to be brought in by boat and arrived at Kantang Port. which is the location of a temporary factory to assemble various wheeled locomotives to send up to Bangkok

Kantang Railway Station opened for the first time from Kantang Station to Huai Yot Station on April 1, 1913. Later, it was opened from Huai Yot to Thung Song on January 1, 1914.

Kantang Railway Station Initially, it was used as a freight forwarder with foreign countries and as a transportation and transportation hub of various cities. in the Andaman coast, including Trang, Phang Nga, Krabi, Phuket and Satun, as well as an international maritime hub.
